Laura's Foot Procedure

Laura recently had been having some trouble with her feet around her big toes. She was having some pain in the bottom of her feet below her big toes. So she had visited a podiatrist to find out about the pain she's been dealing with. She has had a hard time wearing her work shoes to the office. She had told the doctor about the pain in her feet and he took some X-Rays of her feet and toes.

So the doctor had showed her the X-Rays and you could see her big toes had some alignment issues. She has some early bunion problems starting he told her. He then told her about a metal device she could wear on her toes to help realign the toes. She was happy to wear this device on her toes if it helped with her foot pain that causes a good deal of pain for her feet. The doctor said there was a slight drawback to the device she could wear on her toes.

Laura was like. "Okay. What's the drawback?"

The doctor said that once he secures this device on her toes, she would be wearing this on her toes permanently.

She was like, "What do you mean permanently? Like for a month or two possibly."

The doctor then tried to explain to Laura that this device can never be removed from her toes. She would have to wear it forever! She was kinda skeptical at first, but her feet were hurting so bad that she was kind of willing to do whatever to relieve her foot pains. The doctor said it should help her with pain, but didn’t give her a 100%!

He then left her to think about what she wanted to do, so a nurse came in to check up on her, and talk with her to get her answer. Laura was reluctant to secure something permanently on her toes, but if it was gonna help with the pain she's been dealing with, she was gonna try it.

So the nurse had Laura sign the paperwork, and the doctor then came back to do the procedure on Laura's toes! So he then took out the device and began to insert her big toes, and then went about securing the device around her big toes, and making sure it fit snug on her toes.

He then asked, "How does that feel?"

"Snug, but not too bad. It's tolerable," she said.

While waiting to check out, she wiggled her toes, and tried to tug on them, but she was unable to do anything with her toes with this device on her toes. After returning home, she laid down on the couch and looked at her toes in the device, and she hoped she did the right thing.

She thought to herself, "I'm not gonna be able to have much use if any with my poor toes in this position. It's gonna be hard to walk like this if at all."

Her toes hurt somewhat since the device had been secured around her toes, so hopefully that was only temporary! Otherwise, this permanent thing is not gonna be good for her feet and toe pain!!
