- Potential change to another chat forum software.

1. Number of views:

There was a period of time in the Spring of 2022 when this forum's software was resetting the number of views to zero for different contributors. The likely reason was because our server's hard drive was filling up unnecessarily due to a misconfigured backup procedure. Since that was fixed, those resets have evidently stopped.

Whatever happens going forward, keep in mind that most traffic occurs on the main pages of our site rather than in the forum anyway, so even when the number of views are accurate, they're far less than the number of actual views that are made on the main pages of our site.

2. Missing posts:

A few posts seemed to have gone missing unless of course the authors deleted them. If anybody's posts go missing, feel free to re-create them. But again, this is a problem that seems to have been fixed.

3. Membership status:

There were reports of members suddenly becoming ex-members, including yours truly. Evidently, though, that problem is no longer occurring. However, if that happens to you, please let me know by sending an email to my gfwebmaster@greatfeet.com address.

4. Topics disappearing:

Another software glitch that was reported was the sudden disappearance of entire topics. And again, that problem seems to have been resolved. Nonetheless, please let me know if you see that problem again so that those topics can be restored.

Unfortunately, this forum's software is no longer supported by its creators. Still, there are no immediate plans to switch to another chat forum software unless, or until this forum becomes inoperable.
