If you use AOL or Hotmail as your
official e-mail contact to access our chat forum, whether you keep it hidden from the public or not, you may very well have problems receiving automated replies from this forum when you request them.
Confirmation messages from us to let you know we've received your photos may get bounced as well. Both AOL and Hotmail are often too aggressive in their spam controls, and therefore bounce legitimate messages.
Hint
: AOL users, check your spam folder. Hotmail users, check your junk folder. Keep in mind that a bounced message may not show. As such, you may want to try the following:
AOL Users
:
1. Check your spam settings.
2. If needed, include
gfwebmaster@greatfeet.com in your contact list.
Hotmail Users
:
1. Click
Options2. Click
More options3. Click
Safe and blocked senders4. Click
Safe senders5. In the
Sender or domain to mark as safe text box, type
gfwebmaster@greatfeet.com and then click the
Add to list button. We should now be inlcuded in your
Safe senders and domains text box.
Whenever someone signs up to join our free chat forum, or whenever a person requests that their password be resent to them, an automated reply is immediately generated, and sent by our e-mail server. Both AOL and Hotmail do not always handle these requests properly. Simply put, this means that our automated reply will not be received by you.
If the information above doesn't help, send an e-mail to Bill at
gfwebmaster@greatfeet.com and further help will be attempted.
P.S. Keep in mind that with a good working e-mail address, even if you choose to use the default setting of keeping your address hidden from the public, you will of course be able to immediately obtain your password information automatically 24/7. You will also have no problems using our chat forum's automated notification service to let you know when new posts are made to a topic of interest to you.
Note
: Because we are a popular site with a lot of traffic, you may find that our e-mail address is being
phished. Simply put, this means that it may appear we have sent you a message when in fact we have not. This is usually pretty obvious.
Keep in mind that we never send unsolicited messages. Not for marketing purposes. Not for anything. The
only time you will be getting a message from us will be as follows:
1. Confirmation messages will be sent when you send photos, video clips, or stories to our site.
2. A reply will be sent to you if you send us a message.
3. You will receive an automated message whenever you request your user name and/or your password.
4. Whenever you choose to be notified of new posts in our chat forum, you will receive automated messages if you edit your control panel settings (
User CP) to do this.
So if you are not expecting a message from us, then you can be certain that the message you see with our address is spam. Feel free to ignore it. In fact, we urge you to ignore it.
